Magic Mirror
Auto horizontal mirroring
You edit only the left half. The right half updates as you work. A dividing line shows where the split is. Knots on the mirrored side cannot be clicked. Add rows and the mirroring continues. Add strings and it keeps up.
Auto vertical mirroring
Set a middle point when you turn the feature on. The design is mirrored vertically and stays in sync as you work. Change the breakpoint and it updates. You can also set the number of repeats. Combine this with horizontal Magic Mirror so you edit only the upper left, and the other three quadrants update automatically! This can save hours of tedious and unecessary work.
Four-fold auto mirror
For W-type designs. Edit only the left quarter. It is mirrored and flipped, and your edits propagate automatically through the rest of the pattern.
The dividing line color can be changed in Settings, or hidden if you would rather not see it. Mirroring still runs either way.
Interface Refinements
The software has undergone a complete re-do of the rendering engine, so that knots and arrows are drawn clean and sharp.
The side strings that carry down are shown on the pattern. That matters when you are tying: you can see how the edges of the bracelet actually work.
Direct Knot Input and Knot Nav
Direct Knot Input
Hold Z, X, C, or V (and you can easily re-map to different keys) and click a knot to set it instantly to forward, backward, forward-backward, or backward-forward. No cycling through every knot type. A real time-saver when you need to convert a run of knots to one type.
Knot Nav
An alternate way of working, turned on from the toolbar. Select a knot, then use the arrow keys to move. On any knot, press Z, X, C, or V to set the knot type instantly, or the Space Bar to cycle as usual. All of those keys can be remapped in Settings.
Colors
The program launches with different colored strings instead of a whole bracelet of red.
A new color picker includes a color wheel, hex values, and an OK confirmation button.
Drag a color swatch onto another swatch in the main layout to copy that color.
Randomize Color
Applies a new palette. It cycles through complements, split complements, analogous, triadic, opposites, grayscale, primaries, pastels, jewel tones, monochrome, warm, cool, earth, neutrals plus accent, high contrast, or rainbow. Then it lays the palette out in blocks, alternation, halves, or a short gradient. With horizontal Magic Mirror on, only the left half is randomized and the right side follows. Undo restores the previous colors.
Templates and your own designs
Load Template opens a browser of preset designs with large thumbnail previews.
Save to Template stores any design as a template so you can reuse it later.
A visual browser shows your own saved designs as large thumbnails of the patterns, so you can find a bracelet by looking at it instead of guessing from a filename.
Startup choices live in Settings: open a template you choose, start a V pattern with N strings, or reload the design that was open when you last quit.
Bracelet Book import and export
Export to Bracelet Book writes an HTML file with the knot pattern converted for copy-and-paste into Bracelet Book, the colors with swatches, the color-order pattern, and a picture of the bracelet.
Import from Bracelet Book has fields to paste information from a Bracelet Book pattern. The bracelet then opens here so you can keep editing it.
Size feedback and hand mockup
The window shows an estimated finished size and updates it as you change strings and rows.
A mockup overlays the bracelet on a hand, with accurate relative sizing, so you can see how wide and long the piece will be.
Triangle Start overlay
See how the pattern would look with a triangle start. Shift the overlay interactively to choose the best starting point.
Workspace and Settings
A Settings window for startup, appearance, Magic Mirror line, and Direct Knot and Knot Nav input keys.
A Did You Know box on the right with short notes on using the software.
A more modern look for buttons and controls.
Molikai color scheme for the toolbars.
The preview of the finished bracelet, to the right of the knot diagram, stays in the viewable area instead of running off the page, regardless of size.
The current filename appears in the title bar after the name of the software.
Save and export dialogs open with a sensible default filename already filled in.
The bundled runtime is Python 3.14 with Tk and Pillow, which the new drawing and features need.
